I am responsible for introducing Ink Dyes to the Gourd Art Market so I will teach you how to properly use ink dyes and other related products. You will learn to make your own templates, how to use rubberstamps on gourds and the transfer method I developed with masking tape. There is wood burning involved in this class and you do not need experience to follow my teaching but those with experience will learn a lot of new techniques that will help you with creating your artwork in half the time. I will teach you many techniques described in my book which will help you with visual learning. You will also receive product samples to use during class and other surprises. Plan on having a really good time learning and socializing in this class.

Materials/Tools Supplied by instructor:  All products and embellishments to complete this gourd are supplied and some tools will be available to share when needed. I will come prepared to sell my products and supplies to those who wish to purchase for class needs and festival shopping is also provided.

Materials/Tools Required by student: A bottle gourd, approximately 6-8 inches in diameter. Wood burning tool is a must have, for those who do not have one, the Versa Tool is a good starter tool, you can find it in JoAnn’s or Michaels. If you have any tools related to your gourd art needs please bring them. I am flying from Tucson and have limitations to how much can be transported and I appreciate your help with bringing what you are comfortable using during your cutting and cleaning of gourds. What I do have to offer will be shared by others and will cause delays but I am very patient and I hope you will be too. Baby wipes are a must and if you have a heat tool for rubber stamping, please bring it, I will have a few to share for those who do not have one. Please bring a dust mask and if you have any special needs, please let me know when you commit to this class so I may prepare for your needs.
This class is all day and I recommend you bringing lunch or snacks and beverages for the day. We will break for lunch and you can snack anytime you want. I am available for staying longer than class time for those who need more time or need more assistance.
